Wench75- I do not know too much about many of the store brands, but this I know-as a general rule of thumb, if there are more than 10-12 ingredients on the bottle, and many of them some kind of acid, such as the sulfuric type acids, they tend to dry out the hair. So it may be a little too harsh for our little babies. Always make sure the 1st ingredient is water. Many of the store brands have high levels of those acids, which is why they are a lot cheaper. I would make sure that any shampoo we use on them that it he a moisturizing or a hydrating shampoo. We don't want to dry out there skin.
