I only feed dry and I free feed it except a couple of times a week I will cook some eggs or chicken or mix in some canned. I do have yorkies with sensitive stomachs and I don't feed beef or ham or any pork ever and I will give turkey or chicken as a treat.
I cannot believe that a pet owner would fail to feed a proper diet to keep their yorkie at a certain unhealthy weight. I can see where a bad breeder would because the puppy will be weighed...but a pet owner could just lie about the weight if it was an ego thing to have a small yorkie. I don't see that on this board or with anyone in my meet up group. I just got a question about Ava's weight and I think people are curious but I think a yorkie's size is determined more by structure (height and length) rather than weight and I have posed this query several times on here. Ava is small in structure but is stocky and kind of chunky so she weighs more than she looks like she does.
