Truthfully, I can only understand dressing your dogs to an extent. I have some special clothes for my dogs that I put on them for 'special occasions,' but I can't say that they care one way or the other--but if it gets to the point that someone is obsessing over it and their dog has more clothes than they do or more pictures in the house than the skin kids or they are doing without "needs" to make sure the dog has a bow to match the raincoat that they wear on Thursdays when the moon is full....well, that I can't understand. Now, having said that...I do NOT think that is the case with you, nor do I think that you are nuts for dressing your little one for Christmas. Point is, I can see where a non-dog person on the outside looking in might kind of raise an eyebrow.
In any case, they shouldn't have criticized you for it or made fun of you. I'm sure there are things that they do that you 'just don't get' either. If it makes you happy, then what does it matter. |
