You might try placing the crate next to your bed where your baby can see you. They go through this stage because they fear being abandoned, again. After all, baby was just taken away from his birth home. You can also buy a dog bed with a heart beat in it. I can't remember the name off hand, something like Cuddle Pup or Snuggle Pup. As others have said, the best thing is to ignore. When baby is quiet in the crate, praise him. Eventually he will learn that crying gets him nowhere. I have been going through this with Holly. After having her for about 10 days, she rarely ever cries in her crate/ex-pen now.
