When my pups are about 4 weeks old I just grind up some dry puppy food in a blender until it looks like corn meal. I put a small bowl of this ground food in the pen with the mom and the pups and the pups usually always start licking and eating the food right away. The moms might eat it too but that is o.k. because they will be teaching the babies to eat out of a bowl. This method has worked great for me for years and I have shared it with other breeders and they said it worked great for them too. Be sure to leave a small bowl of water also. You can leave the ground food out all the time and the pups will slowly learn to eat. As they get older then you can start feeding them the unground kibble. Always feed a high quality puppy food. I use Canidae and Chicken Soup. When my pups are about 5 weeks old I start adding a little canned Pedigree Lamb and Rice to the ground food to make a moist meal and I give them that twice a day but I also leave the ground dry food out. How old is your puppy? If your puppy has the poops you must make sure it is not Coccidiosis because that can be deadly.
