Sorry what I wrote didn't make complete sense. But No I don't use the doggie litter, just the boxes. I put the pee pad inside the box, used an xpen to make their area small (with the box and food, water and toys inside) - that's how I trained them to use the box. I had to use the washable ones for about 6 months, after that back to the throw away ones and they didn't shred them anymore.
