Having been very involved with Yorkie rescue myself your response was excellent. Some of these little ones have passed through many homes and end up in rescue for the most part because they could not be potty trained or they came from a family with young children. It used to be on the AKC website (not there any longer due to the change in the standard) that this breed is not recommended for small children. I do think there is always exceptions to the rule but rescue's just can't take the chance a rescue bites a child as then the rescue organization could be sued. I ended up with 3 biters that would have been put down (humane society and animal control called me and gave them to me - if I hadn't taken them they would have been put down for biting) and I could not adopt them out. We manage to get along fine but I have been nailed during grooming or when they get overly excited.
Most of our little rescue's have already had their hearts broken, bones broken or just plain ignored and we have to heal them and help them transition to a new life. A reputable rescue has already put their hearts into these dogs along with their own money to make them well again and we have to always think of the pups first. For some of these dogs another mistake could cost them their life so finding the perfect home is what is most important.
