Wow I love it here already. I didn't expect so many replies and they are all so nice. Thank you all for your lovely warm replies and welcomes. I have been here all of two minutes and I feel at home already. I feel so welcomed and can't wait to get to know you all. You are all so friendly here and I especially thank Fran and Sammi for telling me about this site.

No matter where we live, what we do in life, how different we are, opinions etc.. we all have a very special thing in common, the love of our furbabies and a love for the breed in general. For all the people who have been lucky enough to meet a Yorkie or even luckier to have one in their lives it's not hard to see how it is so easy to fall in love with them. Each one brings a new special meaning and love.

Yes I have loved Yorkies for a very long time....17 years in fact and it was just meant to be as my Dad has Asthma and is allergic to pet hairs from animals that molt (not sure how you spell it). So my Mum had grudgingly accepted that she could not have a dog and one day was walking to my Grandparents house when she saw this little black and tan bundle of fluff come running out of a house with a man behind it trying to catch it. My mum caught the puppy and fell completely head over heals with the breed. My Mum went home and told my Dad about the pup and how much she wanted one and my Dad said that it was impossible because of his asthma. So a couple of years later she came across another one and went up to stroke it. It was in a womans arms and my Mother asked her what the breed was called and then went to the nearest pet shop and asked them for a book on Yorkie's. Well when she read the part about that they don't molt she was estatic and there was no stopping her. A few weeks later she had her Yorkie and we have had them ever since.
