I gave Gracie and Holly separate ex-pens, crates, toys, food etc, and put the pens next to each other. I did not force Holly on Gracie. I just let them have supervised get acquainted sessions, short at first. Now, they are getting along really well and it has only been a week. They need time to establish who is going to be alpha (ideally that should be you). In the meantime, give the first one lots of extra attention, feed the first one first, give loves to the first one first etc. All should go OK.
