Yep definitely, I brush first, then I actually comb with a facial comb (since they're so small it works great for their body too), then flip it up and go backwards. If there are any tangles that are too sensitive to comb out, I try the dematting comb first...and if that fails I use the thinning shears and work it out. With 6 it takes me at least an hour to do them all, and some have short coats. Of course I've gotten pretty fast at it now...lol
But even with a full coat, it seems if you want to own an yorkie you can take 30 mins to an hour out of your day to groom them. That is part of the requirements!!
