I thought that about mine, and she actually walked outside, across the patio very "nonchalantly", out onto the lawn and then "Patooey!!!" out she spit the pill.
I don't trust her though, so much to her dismay I picked it up and gave it to her and sat on her for 3 full minutes. LOL!!!!
Gosh, I love giving pills to cats (not!!). You are right, they are too smart - you cannot trick them with food like a dog.
