Have you had your puppy for a few months? Or is he new to your home? Perhaps he is trying to get your attention, but if you are playing with him when it starts, that shouldn't be the cause. Perhaps it's a bit of a battle for dominance. You'll want to be firm but very calm when disciplining him. I would also suggest a puppy class as lopresm suggested. It may help re-establish you as the pack leader.
