Having a puppy is like having a new baby except without the diapers! There's no sleep, crying in the middle of the night, tummy problems, short burst of energy with naps in-between, and lots of pee and poo! With my puppy, we have play periods of about 30 min and then I make him calm down and rest. I try to put him in my lap at first, if this doesn't work, he goes in his xpen or crate and almost always falls to sleep. I never let him run around by himself (cause of chewing and pottying) and he only gets to touch his cute little paws to my carpets when he has just gone pee and poo. Good Luck.
