First of all, I have NO problems with mixed breed dogs. They are cute and wonderful and deserve great homes. A mixed breed dog is just as good of a pet as a purebred dog. I have no problem with someone adopting a mixed breed from a shelter or rescue group. There are tons of "designer" dogs in shelters and rescues right now..they may not be called "chorkies" "maltipoos" or other silly names...instead you might see chihuahua/yorkie mix or maltese/poodle mix or even just yorkie mix - but they are there. What I have a problem with are people who purposely breed mixes and keep contributing to the huge pet populations (I also have a problem with backyard breeders breeding purebreds that aren't of quality to breed). Both are bad, bad, bad

And why spend a ton of money to support a backyard breeder who shouldn't be breeding their dogs anyway? If you want a mix, great, but don't support bad breeding - adopt one that needs a home

Purchasing from backyard breeders, pet shops, and puppymills perpetuates the suffering of other dogs.
Educate yourself and buy from reputable breeders or rescue.
