I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your first born pup and hope things turn out well for the second one. The pictures look as if mom is attending to the little one; maybe she will just take a little longer than usual to figure out what she's supposed to do. Wishing you and the new little family much luck and please do keep us posted. Congratulations!
Yes...do keep a close eye on them to make sure mom stays attentive to the puppy, does not hurt it, or lay on it.
