I learned the hard way. When I do it again with my puppy, I will know to ask for a scissor cut, not the clippers and I will tell her specifically how much I want off all the way around. Just like when we get a haircut.

Something else I will do next time is to have a picture that looks like the way I want it to look. That way I'm hoping there will be no surprises.

My puppy ended up getting a puppy cut and although I was shocked at first, I do have to say that it is much easier to manage and to keep him clean and brushed. When he grows out to what I consider the perfect length, I am goign to take a picture to have on hand for the groomer the next time.
