I hope this is OK to post - This just happened in Bimingham NY....
I just got an email from a friend of mine who is a total yorkie lover - she asked that her name not be mentioned as she had something to do with the rescue and would like to keep in the background.....Let me say this - She did a WONDERFUL thing with these poor babies ...4 Puppies and 6 Adults were found in a home with no air ...food or clean water. The owner was on a so called 'trip' - The Humane Society stepped up and took possession of these 10 yorkies ...quickly.
They are looking for ANY donations - shampoos etc....AND offering adoptions for 10 yorkies - They are
not ready yet for adoption yet...but are hoping people will call or send what they can - IF ANYONE is interested in helping or adopting one of these yorkies .....please go to the site for their phone number.
Here is the website and contact info for the Humane Society where the Yorkies are. [/I]
http://members.petfinder.org/~NY71/home.html Copy of parts of Her EMAIL: Our local Humane Society has all 10 Yorkies which are all surrendered. All in time will be up for adoption and I was told they would be 100.00 each.
They are still working on vet care and with 10 Yorkies coming in on top of the animals they already have they could use help. I was told that the adults need dental care and have received shots and been vet checked. The puppies needed all shots and wormings.
I was hoping some Yorkietalk members might want to help with their care. While there they were going for a food run to Sam's club and a local super market I believe donated some items.
I was hoping members could maybe donate anything from food, hair products to cash donations. Anything to help. It would be best if anyone wanting to help could contact The Binghamton Humane Society and ask what they need most. I am sure shampoo is not on their list of needs but with 10 Yorkies they need good stuff not hartz .
We are going to donate all we can to help and I am going to volunteer my time. All I know is they will be there for some time before released for adoption, I guess because of lots of red tape. It breaks our heart to see them there but we know we did the right thing. In time all will have a new home hopefully with some Yorkie lovers.
