My husband had a Lhasa Apso that chewed through his drywall and clawed up the hardwood floors by the front door while he was gone. His vet said she had separation anxiety. He put her in a crate while he was gone and she was so nervous that she broke off every single tooth at the gum line trying to chew herself out of the crate. I would suggest you read up on separation anxiety and try to get her to overcome that.

When we got married and combined our doggy families all of her separation anxiety vanished. She never chewed again and was perfectly fine. We noticed that she had a new mission in life to try to control my two dogs and we think it took her mind off of the separation anxiety. I don't know if getting a second baby would help but it helped my husband's dog.

Good luck!
