You can't. And if you do that, he'll get scared and not drink. I have used a medicine dropper before to get water in Chloe when she wouldnt' drink. She didn't like it, but I got some water in her.

If he'll go for it, put some room temperature water in your cupped hand and offer it to him and see if he goes for it.
