I definitely think there is truth to the idea that some dogs just aren't lap dogs. But..also, it takes time. Tucker used to be a crazy, high-energy puppy but as he has matured he has calmed down and loves to snuggle a lot. He still needs his run around and be crazy time every day but he is such a little lovebug the other times...especially at night when he curls up right in my arms as we go to sleep. Adorable! And he lets me know when it's bedtime too because he gets cranky like a toddler and needs me to hold him so he can go to sleep.
I'd say around 8 or 9 months is when he started to really get into snuggling.
It's funny because just the other night I was wrapping presents at the kitchen table and I was squatting down to get the corners just right and all of a sudden there was a Tucker puppy in my lap!
So, long story short, it sometimes just takes a little time. Don't get discouraged! |
