i want to make some dresses for lily may using this vest pattern and adding a gathered skirt to the bottom. i don't know how to alter the bottom of the vest pattern. do i make the tabs wider and square off the bottom, or do i just square off the bottom, i don't want the dress to start under her armpits. i don't sew much and am totally lost on how to do this.
