I could not image my life without these babies.

Can you please tell us the name of the rescue organization you dealt with? I, too, have had negative experiences with several rescue organizations who won't consider me because I have a five-year-old daughter. What's even more frustrating is that I am willing to take an older dog and am blessed with the ability to provide unlimited veterinarian care.
I did, however, have a fantastic experience with the Pennington County Humane Society in Minneapolis (where I adopted my four-year-old rescue, Tika). The operations manager, Dawn, is a doll and was only concerned with the best interests of the dog. She saw how my five-year-old daughter interacted with Tika and the cats in the shelter. I was so impressed with Dawn and the organization that I am volunteering my time to design them a new website.
Rescue organizations need to reconsider their blanket policies that exclude families with children.
