I had a friend tell me a story of a couple they knew. They were dating as teenagers and were like 2 years age difference. The guy turned 18 and the girl was 16 and the dad found out they were having sex. Well, the dad pressed charges on the guy for statutory rape and the guy became a convicted sex offender. The couple stayed together and eventually got married. The guy is still registered as a sex offender. How fair was that? |
I know the laws in most states are if you are 18 or over it is considered statutory rape if the other person is 3 years or more younger. So in most states that would not have been considered statutory rape. That is a really sad story!
