The symptoms may have subsided, but that doesn't mean they can't come back...A protein C test is very affordable and can help determine if your baby has MVD or a liver shunt. This may be worth looking into, as it is less expensive than an ultrasound or a scintigraphy. Also, an ultrasound may not show a shunt at all...But it can show if the liver has atrophied and if your dog has any stones/crystals in the bladder.
