That's great that she asked you for references. A good breeder is very picky about about where her puppies go. You should expect to be asked a lot of questions and provide references, even vet references if possible, from a reputable breeder.
A reputable breeder will also ask you about your spouse, children and lifestyle to see if a Yorkie is a good fit for your lifestyle. It works both ways. Good breeders expect to get a lot of questions about themselves, their breeding program, etc. These are all good signs. What you don't want is someone who just wants to make sure you put the right number of zeroes on your check and hands over a puppy no questions asked.
