hOW OLD IS YOUR DOG?ALTHOUGH I AM AGAINST IT IF IT IS A PROBLEM IN YOUR AREA MAYBE YOU SHOULD CONSIDER IT,but AGE HAS A LOT TO DO WITH IT,I WOULD WAIT UNTIL THE PUP IS AT LEAST 6MTHS OR OLDER.THE vet gave it to my dog when I specifically told him not to and he had a reaction and he was already a year. he went in for a routine check up and he saw he had not had it and did it any way.
ALSO: check up online about it like the ways it is spread and If I am correct they get it from drinking affected water like at a park or urine of a dog that is affected( mine drink nothing but the water I give and I watch them whenever we are out like a hawk). I don't think you will be needing it
