I have 2 rescue yorkies. My experience was quiet different, at the time of our (my daughter and me) adoption, my daughter was 8. When we saw our Jethrow he ran up to her and would not get out of her lap. It was love at first sight. The lady at the rescue was so nice and was so thrilled that they bonded so quickly. We were very lucky with Jethrow, he was in great health and has continued to be in great health (of course with regular check-up). Our second adoption was through another rescue and this time we adopted a little old lady that had a really bad life at a puppy mill, Missy was 9 years old when we got her and in really bad health. She had to have all her teeth removed, had mammory cancer, a herrnia, and an infection. Needless to say $2000.00 later she is a health girl. She follows me around everywhere I go and gets really upset if I get out of her site. We have noticed that her hearing and sight is getting much worse but we make sure that she knows where we are at all times. A lot of people thought that I was crazy to adopt her and spend all this money on her at the age she was but she has now been a member of our family for 3 years and is doing great. I could not image my life without these babies.
Just wanted to share a great adoption story!!
