Welcome to YT. These little Yorkies do have a way of melting hearts.
I free-feed our two and have since we got them when they were about 12 or 13 weeks old. I was told that they may be a little heavier if we let them eat on demand, but that doesn't seem to be the case. They each get hungry at different times. I don't have time to make their food. We feed them Royal Canin for Yorkies. When they were pups (2 and a half years now) we fed them a mix of Biljac and Royal Canin. That's what the breeder recommended, so that's what we did. They are happy little guys, and very healthy.
My two, Lucy and Diamond, are litter mates, so they have always been together. We don't have other pets, so we never had to introduce them to "competition." Hope this helps. For as many members as there are on Yorkie Talk, that's about how many different opinions you might get.
I bathe them every week or two, depending on what activities they have been doing and when they need it. You might try using a wash cloth and get them used to it before putting them under the faucet.
