Now I get to be the big downer..If your male is pet quality and you are not aware of the health history of his parentage going back quite a few generations, you could very well be producing pups with genetic problems. This also applies to whatever female you decide on. Also after you use him for stud, he will not be the same dog and will more than likely develop behaviors that might not be so attractive, like marking. He is on the large size for stud use, and the odds of him throwing larger pups that require c-section delivery is therefore higher. Breeding just for the sake of acquiring another pet is not a good idea. If you just want another york or two for pets, find a good breeder and buy them.
Please report the nightmare backyard breeder you found asap.
