My apologies for not reading your question throuoghly. When I saw "chemical imbalance" I assumed it was bipolar.

I'm really sorry, and didn't mean for you to think you could have bipolar disorder at birth! Although they are diagnosing a bit younger than they did in the 60's, I've never heard of them to daignose it at birth! I'm so sorry, and I do hope you accept my apologies.

If I were you, I'd talk to the doctor that diagnosed you. Find out what "type" of chemical imbalance he/she is talking about.

If your not having any symptoms, I really wouldn't think its anything to worry about. But I'd see what type it is if its really bothering you.

But please don't assume it was bipolar! I've never heard of anyone being diagnosed of that at birth. There is no "blood test" for it. They diagnose that on symptoms still right now.
