I have a 5 lb yorkie (Bella) and an 80 lb black Lab (Lucee). Lucee is soooo gentle with Bella and they get along wonderfully BUT I would not leave them alone together because I'm afraid Bella would get hurt. It would be an accident but it could definitely happen. I always supervise their play because sometimes they BOTH get very excited and I have to break it up. I originally hoped to leave them alone together while we're at work so they would have the companionship of each other but I now know that this is not possible. I would recommend getting a smaller dog if you want to be able to leave them home alone together.
