OMG, how horrible!!!! Prayers coming your way for Amanda, her family and yours as well. I just read your post about her being a diabetic now. My 10 year old daughter is a type 1 diabetic (diagnosed when she was 6). She is on insulin injections every day, too---and will be until there is a cure. Although it certainly changes lives, it is manageable. I'm sure that will be a big adjustment for an 18 year old.

We do a lot here in Atlanta with diabetes support and mentoring. I'm sure there are lots of groups in her area, as well, and would definitely suggest hooking up with one. Although Amanda's situation is different, the fact that she will be a diabetic will be the same and connecting with other teens facing the same difficulties with be a big help. I know it has been for our family.
God Bless.
