Sounds like you want an SLR camera. The SLR are professional grade cameras and you can change the lens in them. I just bought one myself as an early Christmas present to me.
I got the Nokia D40. I chose to get mine at Ritz Camera instead of at a Electronics store because Ritz offers free classes on how to use it correctly. I haven't gone yet and I need to!
Many people like the Canon version too.
Be prepared to spend some $$$ - The cameras are priced with a basic lens (if that) and you will definitely need to get memory cards, lens filter to protect the camea lens, bag, warranty. My camera started out at $600 or so and I walked out the store at just shy of $1,000.
I looked between the Canon & Nokia for a good 6 months or more. Went to "Camera Stores" and handled both cameras multiple times to see which one I felt more comfortable with. The best way to decide is to actually use one so go to the stores that don't have the camera all mounted down, you have to be able to hold it and use it to get the right feel...
Good luck! It's definitely worth it (if you are ready to invest in one!) |
