I'm so glad your baby is doing well.
I am a bit confused though. If your vet believes that your baby almost died from a liver issue then there has to be more testing. I don't really see a way around it. A low protein diet is necessary but supplements are also necessary if it is microvascular dysplasia. Surgery would be necessary if it is an operable shunt. Please get another opinion if your vet isn't taking this seriously.
