Hi, several of us have liver compromised dogs. Please join the group that Ellie May posted It is a wonderful group where we all have experience with liver compromised dogs. Everything is discussed from diets to medicines to supplements, etc. Believe me, you will find it very helpful and you will learn a lot about liver compromised pets and what to do/not do...

Is your baby on lactulose? If they suspect MVD or liver shunt, it is very important that she be on lactulose to help push the toxins out of the body. If this is not done, toxins will build up in your baby's system over time and eventually may cause neurological symptoms...

Did they suggest milk thistle or hepatosupport? Denosyl or Sam-E? These are supplements that are beneficial to the liver and help protect the liver from further damage and also help regenerate the parts that are already damaged.

Will they be doing an ultrasound?? An ultrasound will help tell you if the liver is atrophied and if she has any crystals/stones in her bladder.
