The vet is sending her home with antibiotics and pain meds. They aspirated her joint(s) and want to do a zillion tests. They want to test for arthritis.. well, DUH of course she has that. They are running blood tests to see about infections. She doesn't have anything from ticks, which is good news.

You know, at what point do you say no to tests and let her go? I can't watch her suffer and not even be able to get up to go potty. I am literally sick to my stomach.

My h is gone long hours every day so I will have to take care of her. I can't carry her in and out of the house - she is really a big dog.

I had to have my mom's dog put down because of the same thing.

We'll see how she does on the meds and if she can get up at all. I don't want to prolong this if she isn't going to get better. It's just figuring out if she will or not.

I just don't want her to suffer. That is not humane.

This is really hard.

Thanks for your thoughts and concerns.
