Neutering may or may not help with marking at that age. It may cause him to stop marking though so it's worth a try. He'll also be healthier and happier if neutered in the longrun. No chance of developing testicular cancer. Intact males are also known to be more aggressive and can develop other health issues such as an enlarged prostate. They can also smell a female in heat a mile away and may do anything to escape to get to her and some males stop eating and get very restless. I'd neuter him
