My son was (well, he still is.) 3 when we got Sarge. I was comfortable with that because, like you previously stated, I know my son and I know how he behaves in this type of situation. Also, Sarge's breeder very diligently prided herself in socializing puppies with children at a very very young age. So they were just perfect for each other. A rescue would deny me too, I have a 3 yr old boy and I live in an apartment. I could understand if the rescue dogs have had bad experiences with children or they were subject to snapping and stuff... =o\ I hope you find a puppy dear. I know what its like to want one when everyone is telling you that you can't.
