Technically diabetes could be called a chemical imbalance as well as hypo or hyper thyroid!

Because there is no way to determine if you had depression at birth..i am leaning to some other type of imbalance.

Maybe your electrolytes or something was just off...or maybe something as simple as liver enzymes. I am not sure how old you are but I would think any hospital records could be obtained from where you were treated.
The records are probably just stored somewhere.

If you still had the imbalance it would have surfaced long before now.
If in doubt i would have a physical by your medical practitioner
I totally agree....all chemical imbalances are different...I would get more specific information on yours...I'm certain you can google it thereafter to find out more about it, I'm a pharmaceutical recruiter and I know there is tons of information on the web now-a-days...that's how I learn about my candidate's positions.
