Yep. Before I got Tucker, I was trying to rescue a dog, any dog really. They had some kind of a mixed breed that was 12 years old. She was about to be put to sleep, but seemed pretty sweet. I turned in an application for her and was turned down because of my four year old. This happened with several other dogs too. I even have a big back yard and a fence. I guess it really is because of their rough beginnings and they are afraid that kids won't mix well with rescues. While I understand this, it can be frustrating because I know my family could give a rescue dog a good home and with all the dogs that need homes it seems almost silly to buy a pup. But, in the end, that was the only choice I had. We love our puppy so much and my daughter is great with him.
