I heard that some dogs (and cats too) can become obsessed with the laser lights. After you put the light away, the dog will search and search for the light.

I heard the best thing to do is to have a beginning and an end to the light, so that the dog doesn't think the light "disappeared" and they go searching for it. Turn the light on at the same place every time (like a specific corner) with a cue like "hello light". When the play session is done, the last place to point the light is the same place where the light first appeared. This will prevent the dog to go searching for the light. Also use a cue when the play session is over, like "Bye Bye light".
