If your dog goes outside, then to me I would think the belly bands are for his marking. That is what they are for, hence they should not get soaked and stinky that needs to be changed every time.
I am only trying to tell you what I did. I am sure there are a ton of idea's out there.
Go to
www.markout.com and have a look at that site, you do not have to buy them from there, but that is how I learned and decided pessimistically that I would try them. Low and behold it took a few months, but I was pleasantly surprised. Hope this helps.
