Congrats on your new baby! She is beautiful. I had forgotten what a challenge a new puppy could be; Holly has quickly reminded me. I am doing with her what I did with Gracie. I have a small zip-up pet tent that I put a fleece blanket and pee pad in, then secure the puppy in that and put it on my bed where she can't tip it over. Last night was Holly's first night home. There was no way she was staying in her pen alone all night, she just screamed. It was her first night away from her litter mates, so scary for a little one! I put her in the zip-up crate on my bed and within 30 minutes or so she quieted down and slept most of the night. She got antsy when she needed to pee. I am now dealing with her screaming while she is in her pen during the day. I can't give her free run and Gracie is not ready for that yet. I find the more I ignore her, the quieter she becomes. It is hard, but it is like ignoring a crying human baby when you know all they want is attention. You never want to positively reinforce a negative behavior (e.g., picking her up when she cries). Pay attention to her when she is quiet and praise her for that. Good luck!
