With my first Yorkie Bridget, my girls were 6 mo & 4 when I got her. The kids just learned to be gentle with her since they all grew up together. Course when it came down to it Bridget could hold her own, she was 10 lbs! Now with Lily the girls are 13 and 17 and they all get along wonderfully. With my first Yorkie she loved the girls, but would get a bit overwhelmed if a playdate or group of kids were over and she would just politely go and hide out in her carrier till the cost was clear
The new pup likes to play with the girls, and my hubby and will curl up with just about anyone. Course, she is always looking for me just to be on the safe side
I think you should really not think twice about getting the pup. If you had a pom before they pretty much know the protocol when dealing with a small dog. So, all that being said, go get thyself the Yorkie and have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas...
