I lost my baby Cricket today. She is my long haired mini lop rabbit. She is the best rabbit I ever had. She had the most unique and wonderful personality.
She loved playing with the dogs and loved chasing the cats around. She was a big part of the family.
I don't know why for sure she died. I took her out of her cage to give her a bath and noticed she was very weak. She died in my arms within minutes.
I didn't even have time to rush her to the vet.
I thought I had more time with her.
Why now?
She was always a very healthy rabbit. I knew this day would come some time but I never thought it would be so soon.
I think Cookie knew something was wrong. Yesterday he was barking at the rabbit cage all day long which he has never done before. But Cricket seemed fine, she was acting normal and seemed as healthy as always.
I know rabbits don't live long but I guess I just thought she would live forever.
She was 6 1/2 years old which I am told is a long life span for a rabbit.
I just can't believe she is gone. It happened to fast.
Sorry for rambling on, my heart is just broken and I can't make sense of it all.
Why did she have to leave me so soon.
Rest in Peace Sweet Cricket. I will see you again one day. Mommy loves you.
