I have a four year old and a fourteen week old yorkie. I never leave my daughter alone with him, but they are great together when I'm with them. They will sit on the couch forever watching cartoons together. I think as long as the puppy is raised around children and as long as they don't tease the pup or play too rough, it will grow up to be wonderful around kids. As far as him being a family dog, I can't say yet. But in the mornings, he loves to lick my husband and my daughter awake. He does tend to want to be with me more, but I'm the one who takes care of him and is with him the most. I think if you can get your children to participate as much as possible in raising the pup, he/she will make a great family pet! |
