This is my experience and mine alone. My grandkids ages 4 and 7 have been raised around my yorkies. They are good kids and kind. BUT, the only time they are allowed to be in with yorkies is when they are sitting still on the floor or the couch and I am in the room. I watched my granddaughter, stumble and fall with a puppy in her arms. I kind of caught her and she didn't fall on the puppy. Needless to say, she was put in time out even tho it wasn't really her fault except the getting up and walking with the puppy when she was supposed to be still. Also, about a year or so ago, someone posted on here that the same thing happened with their two year old and the puppy died. So for people to think that just because their kids have been raised or are good with the dogs and won't hurt it is just unrealistic. Kids have accidents BUT so do adults. I think probably your older children would be alright but you would have to be very careful with the five year old.
