I've heard from several dog trainers that it is best to wait until the first one is a year or older if he isn't 100% potty trained and well mannered as he will be able to set an example for the little one to follow. When puppies go through that "teenage" stage about nine months old or so, they sometimes regress in potty and obedience training and if you have two puppies, you often end up with two unhousebroken, poorly trained adult dogs.
I have several friends involved in rescue and they said the main reason pairs are turned in is that they are not housebroken. |
