I have a tiny little question? Hi all,
Most of you who come often know I have yorkie puppies on the ground, they are getting so big and strong. Bright eyed, shiney litte coats, and Im just now starting to handle them frequently. Those little puppy yawns, doesnt get much cuter then that.
As long as they are eating very well with zero problems past or present, the fatties will go to their new homes at 8 weeks. I know many of you think a good breeder does not send puppies home at that age, and I respect your opinions, and value your concerns. I spend an enormous amount of time getting my puppies ready and I would never send a puppy home I didnt believe was ready. I do care about my dogs and the next owners. This is not just lip service I mean it. I can assure you if it becomes a problem the time will change.
That being said heres my question............
I have a tiny "runt" , Im not sure if she will stay small but most likely. She is 6 1/2 oz at 2 1/2 weeks, very little but fat. She started with problems, being weak and unable to compete with the other puppies who are twice her size. Shes doing really well now and has learned to worm thru the others to nurse and shes doesnt require any supplement any more. How long would you keep her 3 or 4 months? Does anyone have any experience raising tinies? I try to breed for standard and dont breed for tiny yorkies. I just want to give this baby the best care I can. Will she be prone to alot of problems since she was a "runt" and started badly? |
