The color changes of a puppy to an adult is not set in stone. All of them change at there own pace and is dependant of the genetics involved. Usually, the head goes first from black to a silver and then to tan. The quicker the black on the back and neck "break" to blue, the lighter the blue will be as an adult. Usually puppies that go from black on the head and turn gold first will be black and tan as adults and not have correct silk hair. Also if the pups head goes from black to gray first, the pup may remain a smutty color as an adult and not get a shaded tan color. these are generalities only. The genetics behind the puppy holds the key.
